Established in Lincoln for over 20 years, St Nicholas Day Nursery is one of the city’s premier day nurseries and, in 2023, they made the decision to upgrade their outdoor play area from natural ground to our premium artificial grass.
The driving force behind this decision was the desire to increase the amount of quality outdoor time their children can enjoy……regardless of the weather. With natural ground, they had an established process for allowing children outdoors in damp weather which involved the lengthy process of putting on all of the children’s ‘wellies’ and taking them all off again. Now that their new artificial grass is installed the need for bringing and changing into outdoor boots has vanished.
After 20 years, the nursery’s grounds were looking tired and failing to keep up with the advancement of the day nursery as a whole. Grounds maintenance was becoming increasingly difficult, with grass dying off in patches and creating multiple ‘trip hazards’. Even mowing the grass involved staff attending at weekends and having to move large items of play furniture, thus exposing even more barren patches.
With their brand new artificial grass now in place, all of their grass maintenance issues are gone. Instead, the children and staff can enjoy a year round practical, safe, and low maintenance outdoor play area for man years to come.
